Study in contrasts

I am always delighted to wake up to a frosty morning. Our environment becomes completely transformed for a short time. This metal ring on my neighbour’s dock was particularly spectacular.

I took this picture one quiet, early morning canoe paddle at Flindt Lake. This little blossom profoundly stood out in among the varying shades of green along the shoreline. I had no idea what type of plant it was until returning home and researching. (Thanks D & B!) In the future I will have to remember to take pictures of the leaves and stems…

Blueberry Blossoms

Blueberries are abundant in our ‘neck of the woods’. They are usually ripe for picking mid July through into September. By the looks of the blossoms this spring, it should be a good season!
