Wasn’t the  John Scott/NHL All Star story inspiring and entertaining?

That emotionally satisfying event combined with the heartfelt comments from so many of you regarding the absence of desktop calendars (and the need to have something on my own desktop), motivated me to whip up a desktop calendar for February.

For simplicity sake this is an image I have used before and I did not set a specific screen resolutions. If you find the size doesn’t work well for you, please let me know. I will gladly make adjustments if they are requested.

Your input is important and very much appreciated.

The Creek

Agimak Creek is my ‘go to’ place when I need a pretty shot. The birches that line the trail along the flowing water never fail to look good. It is one of my favourite places and thankfully, only a short walk away from my home.

Happy March.

January 2015

Happy New Year! Here is a desktop calendar for you to enjoy. You can download specific screen resolutions from the Free Calendar dropdown menu or click here.

This creek runs north out of Sandbar Lake into Little Indian. The trees along its banks are typically frosted like this from November though April. Since it is only about a 15 minute drive from home, I visit frequently. Last winter there was so much snow even with snowshoes it was mid thigh deep. This season we have had so little snow that getting down to the water’s edge did not even require snowshoes! I plan to get back there as soon as the temperatures rise to at least -15C.2015-01_1440x900

A new year!
Will you be making changes to your life? Have you set goals? Are there exciting events ahead? I hope your answer to all three questions is yes.
Enjoy!

November 2014

Sad to say but November tends to be a dreary month around our parts. All the beautiful fall colours have been blown away by October winds. Crisp frost and delicate snow have yet to return with bright freshness. In the meantime we watch the shades of grey dance on the water, in the sky and on the far shore.

Wanna play?

The other morning we spotted a pair of foxes interacting with black birds on the frozen lake in front of our house. I quickly grabbed my DSLR and longest lense, dressed for the cold and snuck outside. I planted my elbow on the top of a snowbank to stabilize the camera looking very much like a sharpshooter I imagine. It was such fun to watch them play; tag, I’m guessing.

Feb 2014

I can hardly wait to turn the page on the calendar hoping the conditions in my environment ease up. I can hardly remember a colder, windier winter. Am I getting soft in ‘my old age’? Whatever. It’s been COLD!

I’ve mentioned before how wind is not my camera’s friend. It’s challenging enough to get still subjects in crisp focus! I realize there is potential for artistic shots with movement and all but sub-zero wind chill is not anything I wish to endure for that opportunity. So, having not been out with my camera all but one day this past month (see previous post), I looked back into my digital library for an image to serve as backdrop for this month’s calendar. Happy February. ❤
