Canada Jay

The Canada Jay or Gray Jay is also known as the Whiskey Jack.
They learn very quickly where the ‘handouts’ are
and can easily be coaxed to eat out of your hand
if you are patient enough.

To longer days!

Having a fairly regular dinner time provides one a measure of the changing hours of sunlight.

The setting sun through my kitchen window, enjoyed after dinner now as opposed to before, causes the hearts of my stained glass snowmen to glow.

You watchin’ me?

Our fresh water delivery guy and good friend, Randy Winters, spotted the curled up ball of Red Fox out on the lake in front of our home.
It was napping in the shelter of our break wall and a large pine.

I tried sneaking out for some pictures and watched the furry critter quickly disappear into what must be a den (or safe hole) under our dock. I’ll have to watch for a re-appearance.
I’m surprised Lindor, our big brown lab, hasn’t be too noisy a neighbour!

Play with Me?

Frost along Agimak Creek

This particular day like most, Lindor, our chocolate Lab, had joined me on the excursion. He’s very good about keeping himself busy in the snow and had been patiently playing with his ball on the creek’s edge up stream from me.
I guess he got tired of waiting for me to play…

Needless to say, the ball suddenly appearing in my zoom lense threw off my focus in more ways than one!

Birthday Boy

My current computer wallpaper features our grandsons
