A “wow” moment

There are times when out with the camera, one chances upon a particular scene at a particular moment that once captured elicits only, “Wow!” For my friend, Amanda, it was snapping a heron catching and eating a large fish. Brad & I experienced such when observing a Caribou and her calf interact at Seseganaga Lake.

On Lilypad Lake this week getting shots of this blossom was, for me, another such moment.

Square?

Close examination of the water lilies opening reveals an interesting geometry. The leaves and petals are multiples of four! At this point (below) the blossom actually forms a square!

I was fascinated with the orderliness of the seeds in the second image.  I think the first image is a truer representation of my world most days!
