Spring Green

A little sunshine, a little rain in May (late May this year)
and you get the most beautiful shade of green!

Winter Spring Winter Spring

The third Monday in May (Victoria Day) is our
unofficial kick off to summer.
Sure doesn’t seem like summer will ever arrive!

Look closely and you’ll see tiny green buds.
There is hope.

Ice on the move

Once the sheet of ice starts to move, it isn’t long
and the lake is clear.

If the temperatures dip below freezing again, new ice begins to form.

Skagit Valley Tulip Festival

Don’t you just love that yellow tulip in the rows of red?!

Sight and Sound of Spring

Memories of my childhood flood back each spring.
Puddles of melted snow freeze overnight in designs of white.

On the way to school, I couldn’t resist the temptation
to crunch through every icy crust.
The hollow shattering was a sound and sign of spring.
