Winter Spring Winter Spring

The third Monday in May (Victoria Day) is our
unofficial kick off to summer.
Sure doesn’t seem like summer will ever arrive!

Look closely and you’ll see tiny green buds.
There is hope.

A Peek from the Peak

Well, it’s not exactly my backyard but Whistler is basically in our daughter, Krista’s backyard.
While visiting our west coast kids, we took a side trip up to Whistler, sight of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games.

We rode the Whistler Mountain Gondola

then the newly opened Peak 2 Peak Gondola to Blackcomb Mountain.

Absolutely spectacular!

Canada Jay

The Canada Jay or Gray Jay is also known as the Whiskey Jack.
They learn very quickly where the ‘handouts’ are
and can easily be coaxed to eat out of your hand
if you are patient enough.

Run Silent

Sled dogs are known for two things –
making a lot of noise
and running.

Did you know when they run
they are silent?!

Run Silent is a local business that offers half, full and multi-day guided dogsled expeditions.

The quiet ride is exhilarating!

Diamonds in the sky

The stillness of the moment and the image belie it’s beauty.
Every falling flake shimmers as it reflects the subtle sunlight.
