Life’s been hectic as we ready for the season ahead. Not much spare time for snapping pictures right now. Vegetation is gradually greening up. I spotted a pair of trumpeter swans nesting at a nearby lake….

Watching water freeze
Agimak Lake gradually opened up over the last few days. Today it is practically clear save what was blown into the bay.
Monday night the still air slowly dipped below zero Celcius with the golden, setting sun. While catching shots of the day’s final rays of light on the texture of ice in the bay, spikes and feathers of ice grew before my eyes!

A Cross
Point of Grace, a Gospel group, makes a great point with their song, “The Great Divide” Here are the lyrics and some video:
Words and music by grant cunningham & matt huesmann
Silence
Trying to fathom the distance
Looking out ’cross the canyon carved
By my hands
God is gracious
Sin would still separate us
Were it not for the bridge his grace
Has made us
His love will carry me
(chorus)
There’s a bridge to cross the great divide
A way was made to reach the other side
The mercy of the father, cost his son
His life
His love is deep, his love is wide
There’s a cross to bridge the great divide
God is faithful
On my own I’m unable
He found me hopeless, alone and
Sent a savior
He’s provided a path a promised
To guide us
Safely past all the sin that would divide us
His love delivers me
(repeat chorus)
The cross that cost my lord his life
Has given me mine
(repeat chorus)
There’s a bridge to cross the great divide
There’s a cross to bridge the great divide
“For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him [Jesus], and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.” Colossians 1:19, 20 (NIV)
I am alone?
Am I the only one excited to see more snow? Maybe because I’ve not been home much over the last few weeks that being snowed in was a treat. Maybe because it is still April and not yet May, it’s okay to enjoy the beauty of a fresh, white dump. Maybe it’s because what I see out my window looks like this.
