A Peek from the Peak

Well, it’s not exactly my backyard but Whistler is basically in our daughter, Krista’s backyard.
While visiting our west coast kids, we took a side trip up to Whistler, sight of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games.

We rode the Whistler Mountain Gondola

then the newly opened Peak 2 Peak Gondola to Blackcomb Mountain.

Absolutely spectacular!

Message of Love

“Jesus, being in very nature, God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness, And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death – even death on a cross!
“Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father”
Philippians 2:6-11

Sight and Sound of Spring

Memories of my childhood flood back each spring.
Puddles of melted snow freeze overnight in designs of white.

On the way to school, I couldn’t resist the temptation
to crunch through every icy crust.
The hollow shattering was a sound and sign of spring.

Iced Birch

Branches of the birch, here wrapped in ice,
appear white against the grey of the evening sky.
