Spring has come early this year!

Wish this was my garden….

I was fortunate to visit Bellingham WA with my daughter a spring or two ago.

Agimak Lake, Ignace, Ontario

One of the things I look forward to most in spring is having the lake surface smooth like glass multiplying the beauty of our sunsets. Although the lake in front of our home is still frozen tight to the shore, where the creek runs out, there is always open water. The foreground in the image above is ice The area of open water looks larger than it is because the shadow of the far shore hides the fact that 95% of the lake is still frozen.

Welcome Spring!

We have had unseasonably mild temperatures this month. Daytime high temperature records have been broken by 10 or more Celcius degrees! We have been posting pictures of the snow melt at our dock on our business facebook page. What has made the melt so dramatic is above freezing temperatures overnight for more than a week! We aren’t putting our boots and shovels away just yet but have refurnished our screen porch and eaten meals there! Lovin’ it!!

Moody March

After 2 glorious days of sun and warmth the weather turned gray and damp. I headed out in the drizzle, camera and umbrella in hand. I didn’t realize how soft the snow had become. With each step on the trail my rubber boot sank deeper than it’s full height! I’m sure I looked like I was marching as I trekked along.Returning; in the foreground you can see my deep tracks. I caught the edge of my umbrella in the top left. My vehicle awaits in the distance.
